Southern States announces its partnership with Waredaca; a full service equestrian facility in Montgomery County, Md. Home to approximately 90 horses, Waredaca offers a wide variety of equine services. As a double platinum sponsor, Southern States will support a variety of events that occur at Waredaca.
Waredaca is a premier equine event facility located in the heart of Maryland that has been hosting nationally sanctioned events for thirty years. Each year, Waredaca hosts three USEA recognized horse trials, two Starter events and the Area II adult rider's training three-day event.
Waredaca offers a wide variety of equine services including: riding lessons for all ages and skills levels; stall or field boarding of horses; summer horseback riding day camp for children; informal shows for beginning competitors; nationally sanctioned eventing competitions; clinics and eventing camps; and cross country schooling on a renowned event course.
In addition to sponsoring Waredaca events, Southern States also sponsors Waredaca professional staff members and riders Gretchen Butts and Steph Butts. Gretchen is an active eventing competitor, having successfully campaigned at the international four-star level. Also a licensed eventing judge and technical delegate, both nationally and internationally, Gretchen organizes recognized and starter events at Waredaca each year, along with serving on several key USEA/USEF committees
An upper level event rider, Steph has ridden internationally through the CCI*** level. Steph has taught eventing and dressage lessons, both private and groups, for 8 years at Waredaca.
Waredaca is serviced by the Mt. Airy, Md. Southern States, managed by Jill Snider. To achieve maximum performance of their horses, Waredaca utilizes Southern States Legends and Triple Crown feed.
