Feeding Instructions
Feed grain at regular intervals and at least twice daily. The amount of feed to provide depends on forage quality and horse factors such as activity level or stage of growth or reproduction.
o maintain desired condition, you may need to increase or decrease feeding rate of LEGENDS® Maturity Textured. Changes should be made gradually, and no more than a 10% adjustment at one time.
- Prevent horses from consuming large quantities of grain in a short period of time.
- Delay or reduce feeding of grain to horses that are hot or excited.
- Periodically weigh feed to ensure proper amounts are being fed.
- Do not feed spoiled or moldy feed. Store feed in a cool dry area protected from rodents and insects.
- Insure adequate water intake at all times except immediately following intense exercise.
- Offer Southern States' "Equimin" granular or block to horses free choice.
- Follow a sound program of vaccination and internal/external parasite control as recommended by your veterinarian.
- NOTE: Do not permit intake of supplemental selenium to exceed 0.3 ppm in the total ration.

2 Feed good quality hay, chopped hay or hay cubes.
3 If feeding less than 4 pounds of Legends Maturity daily, add EquiMin Horse Mineral to daily feeding program.

Controlled Carbohydrate Technology TM is a research based formulation technique that utilizes digestible fiber sources and vegetable oils, in combination with precise grain selection, to create low-starch, low-sugar horse feeds. Lower starch and sugar levels (soluble carbohydrates) have been shown to reduce the risk of insulin resistance, colic and founder. It also promotes proper bone development in growing horses, improved muscle performance and calmer behavior.
