Summary: An outstanding profolic summer vegetable that is easy to grow. Tender and attractive fruits are produced all summer long and are best when picked young and immature. Delicious uncooked; or fried, steamed, baked, oiled and when used in a variety of recipes. Can be frozen for use later.
When and where to plant: Select sunny location and sow in late spring after soil warms. Cultivate soil and enrich with vegetable food and organic matter. Firm soil over the seeds and keep moist.
Care: Keep soil moist and fertilize monthly. Don't worry when first blossoms fail to set fruit.
Harvesting: Pick continuously to assure steady supply. Best when fruits are 4 inches to six inches long and skin is tender and easily punctured.
