Summary: A favorite in the south and growing in popularity in other areas. Plants are vigorous and high yielding. Excellent to use fresh, or dried for winter use.
When and where to plant: Select sunny location and plant after danger of frost and when the ground is warm. Cultivate soil and enrich with vegetable food. Continue planting at 2-3 weeks intervals until early summer. Firm soil over seed.
Care: Keep soil weed free.
Harvesting: Pick when shell is green and the seeds are developed but not hard. For dried peas, allow to ripen fully on the vine.
Health Note: Contain Calcium, Iron, and Vitamins A, B1, B2, Niacin and C.
