BETTER LIFE FOR CORN

Southern States is pleased to offer the only nonselective alternative to glyphosate-tolerant systems in corn.

Liberty LinkThe LibertyLink® trait is widely available in our most trusted, high-yielding corn hybrids and soybean varieties, providing growers the option to use Ignite® herbicide.

  • All Herculex® corn hybrids contain the LibertyLink® trait.
  • LibertyLink® corn hybrids allow growers over-the-top use of Ignite® , which delivers nonselective post-emergent control of a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds and grasses including weeds resistant to glyphosate and multiple herbicide classes.

Positive Attributes
Yield – Yields equal to or better than most industry-leading hybrids in its maturity class.
Herculex – Stacked tolerance to Ignite® herbicide and multiple insect resistance traits including immunity to European and southwestern corn borer, fall armyworm, western bean cutworm, black cutworm, sugarcane borer, southern corn stalk borer, lesser cornstalk borer and some suppression of corn earworm.
Silage – Very good tonnage numbers and even better digestibility of fodder and grain make this an excellent dual-purpose hybrid.
Adaptation – It yields throughout the south and handles moderate levels of stress as well as high-yield conditions. It ears very well with consistent large ears in the row.
Southern Rust – This hybrid is fairly resistant to southern rust and most other diseases found in the south.
Population Response – It responds well to higher populations better management, but remains solid under average growing conditions.

Positive Attributes
Insect tolerance – Contains Dow Herculex insect protection from European corn borers, southwestern corn borers, western bean
cutworms, black cutworms, fall armyworms and others.
Herbicide Tolerance – Tolerates glyphosate herbicide application and Ignite® herbicide application.
Silage Tonnage – It has high tonnage to fill the silo but excellent grain if kept for grain harvest.
Stress Tolerance – It handles heat and drought very well.
Adaption – It is adapted across a broad range of environments east to west where this maturity silage is grown.
Drydown – Slow drydown makes for long window of silage harvest.
Disease Tolerance – This is a very healthy hybrid with very good tolerance to southern and common rust, southern corn leaf blight and gray leaf spot.
Test Weight – This is our heaviest test weight hybrid and can be used for grain if planted in areas where this late maturity fits.

BETTER LIFE FOR SOYBEANS

Ignite® is a nonselective contact herbicide with a unique mode of action to kill weeds in days versus weeks. As the only nonselective alternative to glyphosate-tolerant systems, the LibertyLink® trait with Ignite® herbicide keeps weed control simple and allows growers to continue farming efficiently.

Bitter End for Weeds

The LibertyLink® trait with Ignite® herbicide maintains the ease and simplicity of current production practices by enabling nonselective herbicide rotation in soybeans, corn, cotton and canola. Ignite® offers several advantages:

  • Ignite® is fast-acting, killing weeds in days versus weeks.
  • Ignite® features a unique mode of action with no documented weed resistance globally.
  • Ignite® is a contact herbicide labeled for use on all LibertyLink® trait crops, including corn, cotton, canola and soybeans.
