FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Diamond Milling Facility - Voluntary Pet Food Recall
On May 4, 2012, Diamond Pet Foods issued a VOLUNTARY recall of items produced in their South Carolina facility due to potential contamination by Salmonella. The voluntary recall affected the following brands of DRY pet food stocked in our stores: Taste of the Wild, Canidae, Wellness, Chicken Soup, Premium Edge and Natural Balance.
We have removed all products subject to the voluntary recall. The products currently stocked in our store are not affected by the recall and are safe for your pets’ consumption.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Held in Nashville, Tennessee February 1-3, 2012, the NCBA Convention attracted thousands of beef producers throughout the Southern States territory. 03-02-2012 Trantham Receives Dairy Producers Award
Ronnie Trantham, Southern States district manager from Raleigh, North Carolina was honored with the 2011 North Carolina Dairy Producers Association’s (NCDPA) Distinguished Service Award at their annual meeting in Hickory, North Carolina on February 16, 2012.
Trantham, who worked 14 years with Farmers Cooperative Exchange (FCX) in North Carolina, joined Southern States Cooperative when it acquired FCX in 1986. He has served as district manager since 1990. Congratulations, Ronnie!

The Virginia Forage and Grassland Council and Virginia Cooperative Extension will hold the 2012 Southern Piedmont Equine Extravaganza: Putting Science into Practice. The conference will be held at Virginia Tech’s Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center located outside of Blackstone, VA on April 7, 2012. Registration will begin at 8 am with the actual conference beginning at 8:30 am.
