Winchester Feed Mill Fact Sheet

History

The Winchester feed mill was built in 1977 replacing with Park City feed mill, the former Cincinnati Cooperative Mills facility. The mill is located in Clark County and has approximately 17 acres. Perdue Farms has a grain elevator on the 17-acre site.

We have a total of (35) team members; (26) production, (3) maintenance, (3) administrative and (3) trucking employees.

Current Business

Maximum tonnage capacity is 125,000 tons annually with current product mix.

Current tonnage ratio is 75% bag and 25% bulk.

  • Aquaculture: 189 tons
  • Beef Feed: 32,995 tons
  • Dairy Bag: 2,994 tons
  • Dairy Bulk: 15,217 tons
  • Horse: 21,191 tons
  • Pet Foods: 794 tons
  • Poultry Feed: 4,546 tons
  • Specialty Feeds/Hay/Straw: 819 tons
  • Swine Bag: 1,234 tons
  • Swine Bulk: 49 tons

Transportation Capabilities

We are served by the R.J. Corman railroad.

Winchester feed mill has entered into a strategic collaboration with UPS freight for our bagged feed deliveries. It still maintains bulk fleet consisting of (3) straight trucks and (2) tractor trailers for all bulk deliveries.

Storage Capabilities

  • 95,182 cubic feet of grain and process ingredient storage
  • 33 bins live to batching with
  • 181,903 cubic feet of storage
  • 19,000 cubic feet of finished feed storage in pellet and bagging processes
  • 16,000 cubic feet of bulk feed storage

1 Inglett & Company duplex bag line with Fast Trac II controls and auto stacker for 15 inch mini-pallets.

Warehouse is 39,000 square feet with 16 dock doors.

Process control system is Interstates Control (ICSI) with automated pelleting and all down streaming routing. Full-mill automation.

We have 480 current formulas.

  • ICSI Barcode/Hand-add system.

Territory Served

Our territory covers Kentucky, West Virginia, southern Ohio and Indiana. Winchester supplies various other Southern States mills and dealers with bagged mineral products.

Number of Stores Served: 132 (Retail Services 34, Co-ops 38, Dealers 60). Our product forum is 71% pellets/ crumbles, with mash/textured feeds and scratch making up the 29% balance.
