Southern States News Agrifirm Joins Cooperative Research Farms (CRF) (02/25/08) Agrifirm B.V. headquartered in Meppel, Netherlands has become the newest member of Cooperative Research Farms (CRF), an innovative, multi-national organization of livestock and poultry feed manufacturers located in North America and Europe. Agrifirm B.V. manufactures and distributes research backed feeds for livestock, poultry, and numerous other species in the Netherlands and Germany. As a member of CRF, Agrifirm will actively participate in the planning and development of research trials for beef, broilers, dairy, equine, layers and swine. CRF’s proprietary research is conducted at member owned and operated research facilities, privately owned facilities and at various universities. In addition, Agrifirm now has access to several thousand past CRF research trials, to a network of industry experts in nutrition and feed manufacturing, and the use of CRF’s patented technology and trademarks. "Agrifirm is pleased to join an international non competitive network of companies to share research and exchange ideas. Sharing ideas and research results, and speaking freely about them will provide greater synergy and broadens our perspective" noted Dr. Albert van den Belt DVM, Agrifirm’s Manager of Research and Technical Services. “We are very excited to have Agrifirm become CRF’s second European member”, acknowledged Mr. Paul Kalmbach of Kalmbach Feeds, Inc. and President of the CRF Board of Directors. “Agrifirm is an innovative cooperative devoted to the adoption of new technology for the benefit of their farmer members. They are the market share leader in dairy nutrition. The addition of Agrifirm allows CRF to expand our commitment to proprietary research and strengthens our knowledge and networking base. In turn, Agrifirm gains access to world-class animal nutrition research that can be immediately applied to their livestock and poultry nutrition programs”. The CRF members have worked together for over fifty-four years, conducting proprietary livestock and poultry nutrition & management related research for the benefit of their customers. The other CRF members are: Co-op Atlantic, Moncton, New Brunswick; Kalmbach Feeds Inc., Upper Sandusky, Ohio; La Coop Fédérée, Montreal, Quebec; Federated Co-operatives Limited, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Southern States Cooperative Inc., Richmond, Virginia; Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, LaVergne, Tennessee; and Union InVivo INZO°, Chateau Thierry, France.
