Carrboro Grand Opening Event Summary! (03/06/08)
The Carrboro, N.C. Service celebrated their newly remodeled store with a Grand Opening event and VIP night. President and CEO Tom Scribner and Board of Directors member Laird Bowman were joined by Walter Sturdivant, the President and General Manager of 1360 WCHL radio and other local residents for the ribbon cutting ceremony on Feb. 28
The weekend was filled with special activities and giveaways for Southern States customers. Garden seminars were conducted by the staff and manufacturer representatives. The Orange County animal shelter pet adoption program was available to share their services. Maple View Farms, a local dairy, provided kids with ice cream. All customers were also treated to a cook-out benefiting the local FFA chapter.
Special grand prizes included a Stihl® Trimmer, a Stihl® Blower and a $1,000 nursery shopping spree. Southern States gift cards were also given away every hour of the event. Door prizes for the first one hundred customers each day included free garden kneeling pads, garden totes and flashlights.
