Maybe the name Mt.Olive best describes the town and the farming community raising, sorting and processing pickles. Maybe it is just a coincidence, but the town holds a yearly celebration to honor its leaders, and this year Ralph Britt, who serves on the local Southern States Board was honored as "The Farmer of the Year". And to add to the celebration Sammy Fields a 20 year Southern States employee was honored as the "Right Hand Man" to all the farmers in the community.

We often forget the tasks and the honors earned from not only for doing the job but doing the job exceptionally well. Congratulations to both Ralph Britt and Sammy Fields.
