Belhaven Agronomy Center

Agronomy Sales Manager - Prior to joining Southern States, Josh worked on row crop farms for more than 10 years. He now owns and operates a row crop and cattle farm. He is a member of the North Carolina Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers.

Kevin Braddy
Mebane, Danville & Reidsvile Agronomy Centers

Territory Sales Manager – Kevin has worked for Southern States for over 30 years, specializing in crops, seed, fertilizer and chemicals. He grew up on a small family farm with cattle, hogs, row crops and tobacco. Kevin attended North Carolina State University and earned his bachelor’s degree in ag systems technology.

Shannon Braswell
Marshville & Millingport Agronomy Centers

Agronomy Sales Manager - Shannon holds a master’s degree in agricultural extension education and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business management from North Carolina State University. He grew up on a beef cattle-cow/calf operation and specializes in fertility and pest management. Prior to joining Southern States in 2011, Shannon was an Agriculture Extension Agent with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension.

Russ Brock
Mt. Olive Agronomy Center

Agronomy Sales Manager – Russell grew up on a family farm in Mt. Olive and currently farms a small acreage of corn and soybeans. He has worked in the farm industry for over 18 years, having worked for Southern States for over 18 years and Nutrien Ag Solutions for 5 years. Russell is very passionate about preserving and protecting farm land from development and believes it's critical that we protect the land for future production of food and fiber.

Hertford Agronomy Center

Agronomy Sales Manager - Gerald has been with Southern States for over 13 years. He grew up on a tobacco, corn and soybean farm in North Carolina and specializes in fertilizer, seed and chemicals. He is passionate about helping his customers with fertilization needs and improving their crop yields.

Brooks Cutler
Belhaven Agronomy

Agronomy Operations Manager – Brooks grew up on a 1,200-acre row crop farm that grew corn, wheat and soybeans. He farmed with his family for 12 years after college. Before joining Southern States in 2015, he worked in grain procurement and handling and milling operations. Brooks is passionate about helping customers establish and maintain sustainable farming practices.

Kevin Fisher
Statesville & Marshville Agronomy Centers

Agronomy Sales Manager – Kevin has been with Southern States for over 22 years and is a member of the North Carolina Farm Bureau. Prior to joining Southern States, he worked as an Agricultural Extension Agent for 12 years. Kevin grew up on a small beef cattle farm and graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in agriculture education. He enjoys working with soil and tissue tests to develop fertility programs, and helping solve any of his customers’ problems.

David Gaitley
Lumberton Agronomy Center

Agronomy Sales Manager - A member of the Southern States team for over 24 years, David owns and operates a 3,600 acre farm, where he grows cotton and soybeans. He is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and holds a degree from Pembroke State University.

Farmville Agronomy Center

Agronomy Sales Manager – Ben has been with Southern States for over 5 years and specializes in corn, wheat, soybeans, cotton and tobacco. He holds a degree in ag business management from North Carolina State University and is a Certified Crop Adviser (CCA).

Rachel Grantham
Mt. Olive Agronomy Center

Agronomy Sales Manager - Rachel has been in agriculture her whole life, growing up, she was involved in her grandparent’s row crop and hog farm and later went on to North Carolina State University to graduate with a major in agricultural business management and minor in animal science & economics.

Before joining Southern States, Rachel was the agronomist for Smithfield Hog Production division’s farm sustainability project, Smithfield Agronomics, and a territory sales manager for Alltech. She is a Certified Crop Advisor and specializes in grain crops – wheat, sorghum, corn, and soybeans, with a focus on disease and deficiency identification.

Mark Greene
Waco Agronomy

Agronomy Operations Manager – Mark has over 29 years of experience at Southern States helping his customers increase profit at the farm level. He grew up on a 3,000-acre row crop farm with 200 dairy and 100 beef cattle. Mark is CCA certified and has received a number of awards and accolades throughout his career, including the Operating Excellence Award, Top Performing Location, and Allied Industry award. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and is the president of the Cleveland County Cattlemen’s Association and a member of North Carolina Cattlemen’s Association. He is also a member of North Carolina Commercial Raspberry and Blackberry Grower's Association (NCCRBGA), Cleveland County 4H and FFA Advisory Committees, NC Farm Bureau, and NC Farm Credit.

Jim Kiser
Waco & Hendersonville Agronomy Centers

Agronomy Sales Manager - Jim has been with Southern States serving farmers in North Carolina for over 22 years.  A two-time recipient of the Top Territory Sales Manager of the Year, Kiser specializes in seed trait technology, crop protection products and specialty crops. He has a degree in Agriculture Business Management from North Carolina State University and is a member of the American Society of Agronomy.

Mike Midkiff
Mount Airy Agronomy Center

Agronomy Operations Manager – Mike was raised on a tobacco, soybean, hay and beef cattle farm operation. He’s been working in the farm industry since 1983, starting off at Farmers Cooperative Exchange before spending the last 33 years at Southern States. He has won a number of awards and accolades, including: 3x Presidential Award for Operating Excellence, Manager of the Year Services, 2x Regional Store Manager of the Year, Top Net Promoter Service Award, and Best Operating Store Award. Mike specializes in Production Agriculture: Flue Cured Tobacco, Corn, Soybeans and Livestock Production.

Aubrey Overcash
Statesville Agronomy Center

Agronomy Sales Manager – Aubrey grew up on a livestock farm operation and specializes in fertility and pest management in row crops and pasture/hay. He holds a degree in business administration from Catawba College and was involved in FFA in high school, serving on the local high school FFA alumni council. As an adolescent, Aubrey showed livestock and horses on the national level.

Agronomy Sales Manager – Michael grew up on a corn, peanut, soybean and wheat farm and has been with Southern States for over 4 years.

Dalton Russell
Lumberton Agronomy Center

Agronomy Sales Manager – Charles was born and raised on a 300-acre tobacco farm and specializes in fertilizer and seed. He earned his degree from Clemson University, majoring in agricultural mechanization and business, with a minor in plant environmental science and row crop production.

Agronomy Sales Manager – Brian was raised on a 1,700-acre row crop operation that farmed cotton, peanuts, wheat and soybeans. He’s worked for Southern States for over 21 years, specializing in row crops and chemicals. His goal is to help farmers get higher yields out of their crops.

Agronomy Sales Manager - Raised on a small tobacco, corn and soybean farm, Alan has been in agriculture his whole life. He’s been with Southern States for over 8 years and holds a degree in Agronomy from North Carolina State University.
